I forgot to blog about this but I am now a declared sophomore. It still feels so surreal. I know I’ve wanted to do this for a while but it’s like I’m on cloud 9. I am so in love with my major. I want to do nothing more than learn about both biology and geology. I’m so happy. Now I have another year or so before I can declare my second major. Probably won’t be as amazing as this time, and more of a “hassle” but I need it!
I can say that October 16, 2013 was one of the best days of my life!
One step closer to my dream!
I really do do it for the sharks (and other sea creatures!)
So it took me forever but I did it. I will be under the cap with both of my majors completed to form basically a super major: marine bio, but not really cos my school loves rocks too.
I can minor in Geology if I take the Physics 7 series which I’m still thinking about. Not like a minor in Geology is that great but I’d get it on my diploma as well if I do series 7, and I do love rocks. So I might as well. Next step is speak with my awesome counselor, my major advisor and that lady that does EPS major declaring stuffs. I will probably ask about substituting Physics 8 series for 7, if not I’ll have to buckle down and take Physics 7 even though I have no prior Physics background.
I will only be able to undertake it if I’m serious enough. I do rather enjoy chemical physics and geological physics, so we’ll see. This shall be sorted out within a year, as I plan on taking Physics next Fall.
I have been blessed and will hopefully be doing research my FIRST year. Can I just die? I’m so damn elated. My friend (older Cal student) told me that she had a friend (hydrologist) who was looking for help. I just want to die of how happy I am.
This is exactly what I want.
The only drawback would be that I won’t be able to join many other activities/orgs.
I face the possibility of not joining/auditioning for:
-The Golden Overtones
-Cal Band/Straw Hat Band
But I can’t say no to research. I haven’t even started and I already LOVE my school.
